MONICA GARCIA

As the daughter of a hardworking single immigrant mother and the first in my family to attend college, I know firsthand the life-changing power of public education. My own journey shaped my deep belief that every student deserves access to strong schools, meaningful opportunities, and a community that believes in their potential.

I grew up in the East San Fernando Valley and attended public schools, including California State University, Los Angeles. After many years working in management, I became a full-time mother in support of my husband’s career in medicine. Nine years ago, my family and I moved to Glendora from Arcadia, just as so many families do, because of the outstanding reputation of Glendora’s public schools.

My children are a reflection of the opportunities strong public schools can provide. My oldest daughter recently earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from UCSF. My middle child is a proud 2025 graduate of Glendora High School and is now a freshman at UC San Diego. My son is an incoming junior at Glendora High School.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving our schools and community through PTA at several Glendora schools, the Glendora Education Foundation, and now as your representative on the Glendora Unified School Board for Trustee Area 2.

I am running for reelection because I believe students must remain at the center of every decision we make. Public schools are facing unprecedented challenges, and this is not the time for a learning curve. My experience on the board has given me the knowledge, relationships, and perspective needed to navigate these challenges with care and accountability.

I am proud of what we have accomplished, and I am committed to continuing this important work on behalf of Glendora’s students, families, educators, and community.
